The Social Media Success of Advantage Credit Counseling Service
Social Media refers to the means of interactions among people in which they create, share, and exchange information and ideas in virtual communities and online networks (definition from Wikipedia). So, what does all of this have to do with credit counseling and debt management? Well, it all began when a Pittsburgh based non-profit credit counseling agency AdvantageCCS decided it needed a strong online presence and started a Social Media campaign.
Things really started picking up on March 31st, 2012 when we reached 10,000 Fans on our Facebook Page. We knew then that we were making some great strides in our Social Media campaign. Then, just shortly thereafter on November 25th that number became 15,000 Fans. Now, on June 4th, 2013 we celebrated the wonderful milestone of having over 20,000 people “Like” us on the most popular social media network out there. This means that we are able to reach out and help educate and assist more consumers than ever before. Our online community can find daily tips on budgeting, saving money, managing debt, wise credit use, and so much more. Social Media has helped us take the meaning of credit counseling to a whole new level.
Not only do we have a wonderful and informative Facebook page, but we’re also on the other major social media networks like Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, StumbleUpon, Storeboard, and our Blog (Dollars & Sense) is on WordPress. We strive to be the authority on credit counseling, debt management, debt relief, bankruptcy education, housing counseling, identity theft, bankruptcy counseling, credit issues, etc. Social Media helps us find and connect with those people who may need our services, whether that is now or further on down the road. If we have valuable content and information, those individuals will hopefully remember the name Advantage Credit Counseling Service when they need us.
