Rhode Island is part of the New England area of the United States and was one of the thirteen states that rebelled against the British in the American Revolution. Rhode Island has a few well-known state schools and colleges, the University of Rhode Island being one of them. It’s located in Kingston in the southern part of the state. Another state college is Rhode Island College in Providence. The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations (now known as Rhode Island) is geologically the smallest state in the United States.
