Coupons
Industry experts estimate a whopping 400 billion coupons will be distributed this year in an attempt to build sales and convert shoppers to a particular brand. Coupons are a form of advertising, and they’re meant to increase sales for products that the manufacturer feels you wouldn’t otherwise buy.
The best way to use coupons is to use them when the products are on sale. Keep your coupons organized in envelopes, a coupon organizer, etc. and put the ones expiring the soonest up front. Throw out brand loyalty by experimenting with new brands and products. Buy the smallest package the coupon allows. Organize coupons to be redeemed around the meals you plan to serve. You won’t save money with coupons unless you are planning to buy the item anyway. Always keep in mind; the store brand is usually less expensive than the name brand with a coupon.
